For students working part-time
Here's how you can get involved with
A-kwadraat
At our store, you’ll work alongside our regular production staff. You’ll help with packing, assembly, sorting, or finishing.
We often schedule student workers for production on short notice. If we need your help, we’ll call or text you a few days in advance (usually on Wednesday or Thursday for the following week). That way, you can decide for yourself if you want to come in.
Duringthe summer, when many colleagues are on vacation, we’re looking for extra help to take on some of the work of our support staff. As a student worker, you’ll help organize a specific project, ensure everything runs smoothly, and occasionally assist with some administrative tasks. Of course, when everything is running smoothly, you’ll also pitch in with production.
Student workers in support roles are usually scheduled for a longer period, so you can grow into your role at your own pace and truly support the team. That way, you’ll immediately feel like part of our A-kwadraat.
For students working part-time
What You Need to Know
Compensation
We work 39.25 hours per week, but our workweek is 38 hours. Permanent employees make up the extra hours later, while student workers are paid for them immediately at a slightly higher hourly rate.
In addition to your salary, you’ll receive a €5.25 meal voucher for every day you work, with a small statutory contribution of €1.09. This way, you can work comfortably and be well compensated.
Working Hours
We work Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, unless we agree otherwise.
You will receive a time card, which you must return at the end of your last workday.
Your First Day at Work
On your first day, we’ll be waiting for you at 8:20 a.m. to give you a warm welcome. Together, we’ll go over the details, you’ll sign your contract, and we’ll show you to your department.
When we confirm your hire, we’ll let you know which location we’d like to welcome you to. Starting on your second day, you’ll simply pick up where you left off the day before, so you can get back to work smoothly and feel right at home.
Clothing
Most departments do not have specific dress codes. Just come to work looking well-groomed and neat. For your safety, we do ask that you wear closed-toe shoes to protect your toes and heels.
In some departments, an apron and a hairnet are required. We also ask that you leave jewelry (rings, festival wristbands, visible piercings, etc.), nail polish/gel nails, and false eyelashes at home. This way, we can work together to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.
Food and Drink
Please bring your own packed lunch for the afternoon. Coffee and tea are available in our cafeteria, completely free of charge, and you can always get water from the water fountains. Of course, you’re also welcome to bring your own drink, for example in a plastic bottle that seals easily.
Medical Examination
Are you under 18 and interested in working with us? If so, we’ll provide you with a form that you’ll need to fill out and submit to Idewe. This is how we ensure everything is done safely.
Are you over 18? If so, you don’t need to undergo a medical exam.
