Five EFQM Stars for Total Quality!
A-kwadraat five EFQM stars for quality, thanks to its mission-driven approach, continuous improvement, and significant impact on customers and employees.
A-kwadraat earned a fifth star under the EFQM quality label. EFQM stands for the European Foundation for Quality Management, a globally recognized management framework that supports organizations in managing change and improving performance.
In January, our company underwent a three-day audit by two assessors from Xelyo, the former Flemish Center for Quality. They reviewed more than 130 documents and conducted more than 20 interviews and focus groups with employees.
Strengthening Through Our Mission
And the results speak for themselves: among other things, the final report praises
- the way we work—professionally and with a commitment to our mission,
- our great ability to learn and adapt,
- the continuous stream of improvements driven by performance indicators directly aligned with our mission,
- and our inventive and solution-oriented mindset.
From the report:
A-kwadraat services to its clients in an extremely professional manner. At the same time, it is an organization that shows a deeply moving commitment to the most vulnerable members of society. What is most remarkable is that this is not a matter of balancing these two aspects, but rather that A-kwadraat succeeds A-kwadraat making them reinforce each other, entirely in line with its mission.”
Room for Improvement
EFQM is one of the most challenging— but also one of the most widely used—models for total quality management worldwide: it provides an overview of an organization’s strengths and areas for improvement.
The assessors see the following, among other things, as areas for improvement:
- even more aggressive marketing and sales,
- a systematic link at the tactical level between strategy and operations,
- deliberate management of knowledge that is or is not (yet) available in-house,
- and vigilance regarding the impact of complex systems on agility.
Sustainable value
A-kwadraat its first thorough assessment based on the EFQM model in early 2021. The result was a positive report with four stars. With the new assessment, a fifth star has been added.
