In 2021, with support from Flanders and the European Union, we launched thecustomized employement Healthcare” project. This project involves various strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing and expanding our services for healthcare organizations. Today, we are able to report the initial results.
How Four Subprojects A-kwadraat
We have identified four subprojects that, together, will enable A-kwadraat to make A-kwadraat significant leap forward in service and infrastructure for the healthcare sector, which is in great need of high-quality services and reliable partnerships.
Subproject 1: Isolator for Sterile Preparations
A-kwadraat with AZ Turnhout. The hospital requested that an isolator for sterile preparations be housed in A-kwadraat healthcare building. In this subproject, we assessed the feasibility of such a new isolator in terms of technical requirements, quality standards, and operational impact, and we carried out the implementation.
Subproject 2: Digitization of the healthcare warehouse
A-kwadraat warehouse management A-kwadraat room for improvement. A wide range of digital solutions could fundamentally improve the efficiency of internal warehouse processes, including a warehouse system for the healthcare warehouse. In this subproject, we implemented a suitable software system—Microsoft Dynamics D365—in part because of its specific validation capabilities (which are important for healthcare applications).
Subproject 3: Smart Production Environments for Medical Services
Industry 4.0 offers countless opportunities. We want to take the first steps in this area within the“Health & Care” business unit, because this sector has the highest requirements in terms of regulations, precision, and control, and errors can have the most serious consequences.
In this subproject, we identified the processes for which smart solutions offer added value, explored the various solutions, and began implementing the most suitable one. Once this implementation is fully complete, we will provide more details here.
Subproject 4: Making preparations for a new healthcare facility
In 2017, we opened A-kwadraat , a building specifically designed for healthcare. Within a short time, we saw that this investment generated additional business. The sector is evolving rapidly, and the infrastructure for highly regulated activities requires constant innovation.
In this subproject, we began the preparatory studies for a new healthcare facility, up to and including the preliminary design by an architect. The plan is to break ground by the end of 2026.
