A-kwadraat the 'Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship' Once Again

Fifty companies from the Mechelen and Kempen region have received a “Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship.” This is a record, according to Voka Mechelen-Kempen. Together, these companies have undertaken 750 sustainability initiatives.

16 of those initiatives were from A-kwadraat. The most important initiative was undoubtedly the expansion of our mission. We are evolving from social enterprise for customized work a workforce activation company, while at the same time prioritizing our employees’ job satisfaction. We have also been recognized for our efforts in this area with the SDG Champion label; more on that later this year.

But as always, our action plan also addressed a wide range of other sustainability topics. These included the development of a new Health & Food site and a host of innovative co-creation projects with customers. They also included, for example, the active role we played in solidifying the collaboration among Antwerp’s supported employment organizations within the new umbrella organization Maatwerkt.

For all these achievements, the VCDO Evaluation Committee awarded us—for the fifteenth (!) time—the VCDO certificate . On top of that, we were also nominated for the 2024 Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award. The winner will be announced on September 26 during the Voka Entrepreneurship Award 2024 gala in our hometown of Turnhout.
